Managing physical activity with inflammatory arthritis

This presentation aims to provide individuals living with inflammatory arthritis (Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing spondylitis, Psoriatic arthritis) with an understanding of the importance of exercise, the different types of exercise (mobility, strength, aerobic) about how to modify their level of physical activity based on the evolution of their inflammatory condition. The importance of energy management will also be underlined: a decreased energy level is one of the major symptoms in most inflammatory conditions. Canadian Physical Activity guidelines will be reviewed as well as the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR –Q) and SMART action plans.
